Colours are used in the ‘Accueil de Loisirs sans Hébergement’ (ALSH: leisure facilities without accommodation) as references for the children.

Each room of the building benefits from a natural light.

Coloured Wood for children

The facilities link a leisure centre for children, the town school canteen, the town library and meeting rooms for the local communal associations.

The building meets the standards of the low- energy consumption and the French ‘High Quality Environmental’ regulations.

Made of timber frame with a strengthened insulation (20 cm thick), the building includes solar panels generating hot water for the canteen dishwashers and double flow ventilation divided by areas.

The input of the natural light is thought for each space, the central patio embellishes the playgrounds and it is visible thanks to the long views from the hall to the garden.

Some facilities are shared between the library and the school canteen (changing room, toilets, exhibition hall and exterior play areas).

The belonging in the urban space is made by the main glass and coloured façade of the library and the enhancement of the old school rehabilitation.

A nearby car park, delivery areas for the school canteen and the library sideboard by the library bus complete the exterior project.

Built on the site of the Pallet’s French train station (SNCF) and including the renovation of a former goods covered market, the project lies on the former loading docks at the south of the building.

Meeting the environmental standards and the Low Energy House Standards (BBC), the building is made of timber frame for the extended part.

The existing part has been renovated to accommodate the children’s bedrooms in a perfectly adapted acoustic atmosphere.
